When Children Leave Home …

… things may seem a little different.  For some people the opportunities inherent in this life transition are obvious; more space, quiet, some “me time”, some “us time”…  For others things may feel a bit, well… empty.  It is helpful to recognize this time as a very real life transition.  Taking this chance to reflect on your feelings and desires for the future is important.  As a part of this reflection it can be beneficial to think about how your home can support you during this period and into the future.

Many people consider this a perfect time to re-energize and re-furbish their homes.  Selecting new (more adult) furniture, going bold with color, creating cozy spaces for quiet time are but a few examples of possibilities.

“I strongly believe that one’s environment impacts the way a person feels about him or herself and about the possibilities that lie ahead for them.”
